About Sheila Lamberson

Sheila Lamberson is originally from Southern Illinois, graduating from Southern Illinois University - Carbondale with a BFA in Painting, Minor in Drawing.  She also worked toward her MFA at the University of Wyoming, studying both Painting and Printmaking.

Sheila first fell in love with the effects of light on colors, patterns, and textures while traveling to Wyoming during a spring break trip while at SIU. There is a different quality in the light out west due to a thinner atmosphere and more arid climate. This led to her interest in applying and being accepted into the MFA program at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyoming. After graduate school she moved to Colorado and lived there most of her life.  She currently resides in Bloomington, IL, but satisfies the need to immerse herself with the clarity of light out west with regular trips to Mexico and Colorado.

Sheila maintains a working studio practice in her home she shares with her spouse and 2 hilarious labradoodles.
